Congress can take action right now to help the future sustainability of child care for the families and communities they serve as the Commonwealth recovers from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As Kentucky reopens and parents prepare to go back to a more normal routine, many are now faced with identifying safe, affordable child care options. Yet, early learning and child care providers across Kentucky and the nation are at a real risk of permanent closure as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Continued investment in the infrastructure of the child care sector would allow kids to have quality early learning opportunities, parents to have safer care options as they go to work, and the economy to begin to rebuild.
Congress is working right now on additional federal stimulus packages as the nation begins recovering from the impact of the pandemic. Contact your U.S. Senators and member of Congress to ask for additional $50 billion increase in Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG) funding.
